Supporting Children with Asthma
In our mission to support pupils and staff who suffer from asthma, we are on a mission to achieve Asthma Friendly School status. We already have a system that works well in school but are keen to make further improvements and seek advice from working closely with an NHS expert.
"Children with asthma are more likely to be absent from school than those with no health conditions."
Promoting an asthma friendly environment through training and the adoption of asthma focused policies and procedures will ensure that children are safe while they are in school.
We shall be embarking on the process to achieve Asthma Friendly School Status.
- We already have a register of pupils with asthma
- We have appropriate care plans for pupils with asthma
- We have emergency inhalers and spacers in school
- We are creating a new Asthma Policy
Useful Asthma Resources
We have collated a few resources that we think you may find useful to share with your child to help them understand and manage their symptoms. The resources have been designed spread awareness around childhood asthma and how to manage it, supporting children and young people with asthma to live their best lives.
"Asthma should not limit children and young people’s lives in any way."
