Children's University
Learners here at St.Luke's are fortunate that a whole range of extra-curricular enrichment opportunities exist for them.
Mrs Fleet has successfully co-ordinated our clubs for many years.
Through attending any of our clubs, children can earn points towards their Children's University Accreditation.
Children in KS2 are eligible to become part of the Children’s University scheme. This is a national scheme which started in 2009 to encourage and reward children's participation in extra curricula activities, held both in and outside of school. Children are encouraged to develop new interests, join in new activities and are rewarded for this dedication. Validated activities enable children to collect stamps in their own Passport to Learning which in turn culminates in graduation from the Children’s University. The first award is the Bronze award for 30 stamps then, from that point, there is a clear pathway through certificates, diplomas and degrees! The ultimate goal is a Postgraduate Masters Degree! This scheme has been hugely popular at St Luke’s, with over 150 children having passports that are regularly updated. At our last graduation ceremony in July 2018, 62 children received awards - an amazing achievement for them all and a proud moment for everyone involved.
