The school can admit up to sixty children in any year group. In the event of being oversubscribed; i.e. an excess of 60 children, then the allocation of places is made in accordance with the Local Education Authority’s (LEA) published criteria for admissions.

Nursery

We welcome children to Fledgling’s Nursery from the term they turn three, known as Rising Threes. Rising Threes are children who join nursery during the term they turn three, accessing funding from the following term. All children are eligible for 15 hours of universal free childcare from the term following their third birthday. You are eligible for your funded place from 1st January, 1st April, or 1st September following your child’s third birthday. To claim your 15 hours free childcare at St Luke’s, please telephone or email s.stanley@st-lukes-cannock.staffs.sch.uk.
Rising Threes may also be eligible for Think2 funding or 30 hours free childcare for working parents. To find out more about Think2 places, making an online application, or free childcare for working parents, please visit www.staffordshire.gov.uk/think2 and https://www.gov.uk/free-childcare-if-working.

We also offer 30 hours of free childcare for eligible 3- and 4-year-olds in Nursery. To apply, visit www.gov.uk/apply-30-hours-free-tax-free-childcare. If you are eligible, you will receive an eligibility code—please send this code to the school office to apply for your funded place. To maintain your 30 hours free childcare place, you must check and update your details every three months.

Attending our nursery will not guarantee a place in the school, you will have to meet the criteria for a school place eg. be in our catchment area.

Please register your child's details with us, so we can ensure the relevant information is sent to you regarding our school and the admissions process.
